Welcome to the November Edition of The Collector Times!
Its Presidential election time in the good ole U.S of A. this
month, and in honor of doing our patriotic duty by voting, I am
running the back cover of The Great Society comic book.
I have talked about this comic before,
when I ran the cover. I like the back better than the front because there are all
sorts of famous political public servants in superhero costumes.
Not only do we have President Lyndon Baines Johnson and his
wife Lady Bird in this picture, we also have the future (at this
time of its printing) President Richard M. Nixon here, as well
as the future President Ronald Reagan. I can also pick out Barry
Goldwater, Nelson Rockefeller, Vice President Hubert
Humphrey, Robert McNamara, Robert and Teddy Kennedy.
See if you can pick them out! Wed all follow politics more
closely if theyd just wear these costumes!
Before I get into what is in this issue this month, Id like to share
with our readers an announcement. Part of The Collector Times
staff will be attending Uncommon Con in Dallas
Thanksgiving weekend. My daughter Sidra and I are planning on
being there Friday and Saturday, wearing our Collector Times t-
shirts. Joe "Artistic License" Singleton may have a table, and
Mat "Toy Story" Bredfeldt should be attending. There is also a
possibility that Gonzo, of Starr and Rourke fame, may be
present, too. Do the Texas thang, even if you arent Texan, like
us....come up and say "howdy." Its always a thrill to meet the
folks who read our magazine, because you people never
write: )
Also, a very special thanks goes out to TJ of ,
for generously donating the comics I gave out this
year for Halloween. As usual, my annnual comic/candy fest for
the Trick or Treaters was a rousing success.
OK, on to the good stuff that you have been waiting for. I got
off my dead butt this month and wrote an article about selling
comics. All of you who want to know where to price your
comics and where to sell them now have a handy
reference on my site. Sidra Roberts has a very enlightening
interview with Cory Carani about the joys of inking.
Cory was the long time inker of Legionnaires, and he obviously
loves inking, and it shines through in this interview. For those of
you who are wondering, Jamie Coville returns to Covilles
Clubhouse next month. Its our Holiday present to you (and to
us!)
Speaking of returning, Ian Johnston returns this month with a
new installment of Console-tations, his videogames review
column. We also have game reviews by Mathew
Bredfeldt and Patrick Dunning. Stephane Morrell, from
his igloo in Quebec, provides a Xipetotec Rant, where
he lambastes Diamond Distributors. Be sure to read Mike
Solkos A Matter of Tradition where he talks about
various formats for comics. Plus, as you know, much, much
more stuff.
So, take your shoes off, set a spell, and mosey around the site.
As usual, we are glad you are here!
