Welcome to the June Edition of The Collector Times!
As you can see, we have a new, updated look. We were aiming for the same
fast loading time, but with less glare...and we hope you like the new look
as much as we do.
Our cover this month is a picture of Ed Belfour, goalie for the Dallas Stars
NHL team, as done by the talented and lovely Cynthia Griffith.
Cynthia, as you may recall, used to be the artist for the now defunct indie
comic Second Rate Heroes. If you miss her art like I do, don't despair.
Cynthia has signed an agreement with Ed Belfour and will be producing
licensed collectible Ed Belfour art.
The first print is due out at the end of June, and you can look for ordering
information on Cynthia's website at
towards the end of the month.
I have more good news about another Collector Times contributor. Ian
Johnston, Console-Tations and Final Word columnist, has accepted a position
at Sony X, which is a new Playstation 2 website launching in the third week
of June. Ian will continue to write for us, but you will also be able to find
additional columns by Ian over there.
It's June, and convention season is upon us. This month, be sure to check
out Ian Johnston's con report of E3, which
was held in Los Angeles last month. It's a trade show for the electronic gaming
industry, and Ian lets us know what we can expect on the electronic gaming front
for the coming year. Sidra Roberts attended our own Tim Till's convention,
I Think Therefore I Con, held Memorial Day weekend
here in Houston, Texas. Sidra provides us with her con report.
Star Wars mania is in full swing, and the Collector Times is no exception.
Check out Mat Bredfeldt's articles on Star Wars Toys
and take his test to determine if you are Fan Too Much.
Be sure to read opposing reviews of The Phantom Menace, one written by Stephane
Morrell, the other written by Andrea Spencer, in her column
The Silver Scream.
As always, we have lots, lots more inside, so come on in and read it all. We
are glad you are here!
